Further development of degree programmes

At the Faculty of Sciences, the matrix of a degree programme plays a central role in developing the respective programme.
It is based on the general concept used at FAU.

Guideline 04 Die Studiengangsmatrix als zentrales Dokument zur Weiterentwicklung der Studiengänge explains all functions and use of the matrix. In its faculty-specific form the matrix of a degree programme fulfills the following purposes:

  • essential document for quality management in the particular departments, which combines the most important aspects of establishing a new degree programme,
  • tool of committee work,
  • document for internal communication and transparency,
  • generation of impulses for the development of specific evaluation-sets of the departments.
