This year’s Faculty of Sciences’ Women’s Prize is awarded to Dr. Cláudia Vilhena.
Dr. Cláudia Vilhena leads the independent junior research group Bacterial Interface Dynamics (BID) at the Department of Biology at FAU. After studying in Lisbon and completing her PhD at LMU Munich, she worked, among other positions, at the Leibniz Institute for Natural Product Research and Infection Biology in Jena and served as an Associate Editor at Nature Biotechnology. In addition to her research, she is actively committed to mentoring young scientists, science communication, and promoting the visibility of women in science.
