Quantum states of light are becoming a key resource in modern photonic technologies owing to their unique nonclassical properties. They enable applications ranging from precision metrology and gravitational-wave detection to quantum communication and computing. While remarkable progress has been made in their generation and control, their efficient detection remains a major challenge.

This is particularly true for multimode quantum states, which are essential for high-dimensional quantum technologies. In this presentation, I present optical parametric amplification (OPA) as a powerful tool for the efficient detection of quantum states. I demonstrate the detection of multi-mode squeezing and, for the first time, the simultaneous monitoring of multimode entanglement.

Beyond squeezing detection, I show that OPA enables full quantum state tomography, applying it to squeezed vacuum and single-photon states. Finally, I present OPA as a platform for certifying the quantum features of optical states. In particular, I demonstrate that, by strongly amplifying a single-photon state, its quantum features can be revealed using conventional intensity measure-ments.

The presented results establish OPA as a compelling alternative to conventional detection tech-niques such as homodyne and single-photon detection, paving the way toward scalable optical quantum technologies.
