Are you joining FAU and the Faculty of Sciences for an exchange semester? Welcome!
You will find assistance with all general questions via FAU’s International Office. For all issues regarding your curriculum and courses the student service centres of your departments will be ready to help with advice.

The Central Office for International Affairs offers welcome weeks for international students at the beginning of each semester. The programme is open to all international students.
The welcome weeks take place twice each semester
Are you new at FAU and would you like to have a friend to help you out from the beginning? All international students (both exchange students and regular Bachelor’s and Master’s students) can register for the buddy program on our buddy matching platform. After you have registered, completed and submitted your data for matching, you will soon be assigned buddies from your Faculty.
FAU’s Language Centre offers language courses for students of all Faculties, from Arabic to Hungarian. If you want to learn German or improve your German language skills, you can take German courses at all levels to accompany your studies. During the semester break, three-week intensive holiday language courses for different levels are held in April and September. In addition, there are special preparatory courses for the DSH.
